The ASI Best Sommelier of the World contest in Paris came to a thrilling conclusion in front of a crowd of 4,000 wine professionals and enthusiasts at the Paris La Défense Arena.
BALKAN SOMMELIER CHALLENGE – CYPRUS VICTORY
The Serbian Sommelier Association once again hosted the 2nd competition for the best sommelier of the Balkans – Balkan Sommelier Challenge. From October 27th to 29th in 2022, Serbia was the place to measure the knowledge and skills of top sommeliers. In the Belgrade Hyatt Regency Hotel, the Serbian Sommelier Association hosted 28 foreign sommelier delegations and seven international judges.
May 2022 Winner Sotiris Neophytidis
Freelance Sommelier Sotiris Neophytidis has been named the winner of the 9th Best Sommelier of Cyprus for the year 2022. The contest was under the auspices of the International Association of Sommeliers, ASI.
The CYSOMMS is a professional, non-profit organization that aims to promote the profession of the wine professional – Sommelier – by uniting the sommeliers from all over Cyprus. We are the preeminent national advocate of the needs of the modern Sommelier, representing a single voice on all issues related to the profession of Sommellerie whilst promoting the culture of wine and especially the Cyprus wine.
